◆Call for Papers (2nd Round)
The 9th Asian Conference in Regional Science 2019
April 20-21, Shanghai, China
Regional Science and Asian Renaissance
Background:
Since its conception in the 1950’s Regional Science, an interdisciplinary field of scholarly endeavor has seen many changes. The enhancement of knowledge and technologies and the growing of Globalization endowed several techniques of regional science and location theory less applicable. Asian Conference in Regional Science (ACRS) initially stems from the joint seminar co-sponsored by China, Japan, South Korea and China Taiwan. Over the past years, it has gradually evolved into a meritorious platform, which fosters better codification of methods and exchange of frontier ideas. With growing concern about recent challenges from big data and artificial intelligence, promoting international collaboration to respond to technology shocks seems essential. The 9th ACRS is a new platform for continual collaboration among participating organizations and their members, especially for cross-fertilization of ideas and methods among scholars from Asian countries and regions. More importantly, in memory of the founder of regional science,Walter Isard, the 9th ACRS will be held in China to mark the centenary of his birth.
